FMC SMD 2000 Truck-Mounted Deicer/Washer is deslgned to deice and wash aircraft of alI sizes.

Other uses include washing facilities and equipment and inspection/maintenance of aircraft.

Mounted on a modified standard Volvo truck chassis. the SMD-2000 is versatile unit that incorporates fluid tanks, fluid heaters, an aerial boom-mounted personnel basket.

The truck operates at speeds to 50 miles per hour (80.5 km/hr). The vehicle is stable without outriggers with a 450-pound load tn the basket

tnd with the boom in any attitude.

The vehicle is capable of maneuvering around aircraft during deiclng operations with the boom in any position and with two operators in the basket.

The unit is suitable for highway travel to pith the boom lowered and secured.

The basic fluid system consists of fluid pumps, two gasoline fired beaters and fluid tanks with a capacity of 2,000 gallons (7500 liters).

1 optional proportional mixing system provides a variety of fluid fixtures for delong, washing, and anti-icing operations and the optional demand control proportional mix syntax is designed to revent degradation of the thixotropic properties of aircraft deicing fluids. For the application of fluid solutions, discharges are provided at ground level and in the aerial basket.
